Visit the amphitheater of Minturno

Little known but above all little sponsored, the archaeological area of the ancient city of Minturnae. Currently, the remains of the forum of the Republican age, the Capitolium, the imperial forum, the ancient market, the ancient baths but above all the Roman Theater dating back to the first century AD are visible, with a capacity, at the time, of about 4 thousand spectators.

Discover the hermitage of San Michele Arcangelo

It is a beautiful little church set among the rocks of the Aurunci Mountains. It is located along a path very popular with hikers in the area, which leads to the top of Monte Redentore in the town of Maranola, a hamlet of Formia. The rock sanctuary dates back to before the year 1000, while the neo-Gothic style facade is more recent, built in 1893. The path to take to reach the sanctuary is not very steep, and is just over 7 km long.

Admire Gaeta from Monte Orlando

In the vast network of parks in the province of Latina, there is also the regional park of Monte Orlando, rich in plant species and breathtaking views, such as the characteristic cliff in the final section. However, there is one point, which stands out particularly for its beauty: the one from where Gaeta can be seen in the distance, in all its splendor, with the Aragonese Castle dominating for its grandeur.

Visit the chapel with the golden ceiling in Gaeta

Inside the Sanctuary of the Santissima Annunziata in Gaeta, the "Golden Chapel" (or "Gold Grotto") is hidden. It is so called because it has wooden decorations finished in gold on the ceiling, dating back to the first half of the 16th century. Precisely for the wealth present inside, it was long kept hidden from the faithful.

The Temple of Jupiter is a huge Roman sanctuary that dominates Terracina, the Pontine Plain and the Circeo from the top of Monte Sant’Angelo. The mammoth arches of the Temple of Jupiter form a huge terrace overlooking the sea.
